On Thursday, October 18th, we at Orio Team had the pleasure of welcoming a dozen members of the All Japan Laundry and Dry Cleaning Association , a leading Japanese organization operating in the industrial laundry sector. It was a cultural encounter that certainly didn't leave us indifferent, and we'd like to share it with you today.

The delegation—in Italy to visit EXPOdetergo , the Milanese trade show for laundry and textile cleaning machinery, products, and services—visited our company to learn how a certified industrial laundry operates. The Japanese business owners focused on the processes that ensure proper washing and on the European certifications ISO 9001, ISO 14001, UNI EN 14065, and OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100®, four important guarantees that contribute to the value of our business.
Among the many topics that emerged during the visit were energy consumption, technological innovation , and worker participation in company management. Because the quality of the final product depends not only on an effective combination of technology and energy resources, but also on the commitment and collaboration of each individual employee. The Japanese interest in the activities of Italian laundries that supply sheets and linens to hotels stems from a very specific cultural context.
Japan, which according to Assofornitori estimates is the world's leading country in terms of dry cleaning and laundry businesses (one for every 3,000 inhabitants), is constantly seeking cutting-edge methods and machinery to improve the quality and sustainability of its services. Italy , currently ranked second (one for every 4,000 inhabitants), aims to improve its performance through the creation of common and regulated practices.
Speaking with various members of the Japanese association, we realized that cultural, legislative, and regional differences are often overlooked when it comes to quality, hygiene, and cleanliness. Industry professionals know that environmental protection and personal health are paramount today, and they must strive to demonstrate this in their daily work.
We were delighted to host experts who chose to dedicate their time to visiting Orio Team. We had the opportunity to share our history and the various stages our incoming fabrics undergo—collection, sorting, washing, drying, packaging, and transportation. We were able to see how our goals are aligned with those of many other foreign companies , which have long been committed to providing quality services and ensuring hygiene standards.
This was a wonderful opportunity to get to know each other and discuss different manufacturing and product certification systems, as well as discuss environmental issues and the importance of bedding for hotels. This constructive dialogue allowed us to share our work and enrich it with new ideas and reflections.
